ichpcib - Intel ICHx/ICHx-M LPC bridges
ichpcib* at pci? dev ? function ?
isa* at ichpcib?
The ichpcib driver supports Intel ICH, ICH0, ICH2, ICH2-M, ICH3-S, ICH3-
M, ICH4, ICH4-M, and ICH-5 LPC bridges. These devices are mostly usual
PCI-ISA bridges but with some additional power management and monitoring
capabilities. Besides the core pcib(4) functionality, the ichpcib driver
provides support for the Intel SpeedStep technology, available for the
ICH2-M, ICH3-M, and ICH4-M chipsets. It allows the user to control CPU
frequency with the sysctl(8) program.

Intel SpeedStep support for the ICHx-M chipsets first appeared in
OpenBSD 3.5 as part of the pcib(4) driver. The ichpcib driver first ap-
peared in OpenBSD 3.6.
The ichpcib driver was written by Alexander Yurchenko
<grange@openbsd.org>.
On some old machines with the ICH2-M chipset, Intel SpeedStep isn't
available.
